Not invoked, 50-45: Motion to invoke cloture on the motion to proceed to H.R.7147, Department of Homeland Security Appropriations Act, 2026. Leader Thune entered a motion to reconsider the failed cloture vote on the motion to proceed.

At 6:12pm, the Senate stands in recess until 8:20pm and will proceed as a body to the Hall of the House of Representatives for the State of the Union Address.

Upon dissolution of the Joint Session of Congress, the Senate will stand adjourned until 10:00am on Wednesday, February 25th, 2026.

At 11:45am, on Wednesday, February 25th, the Senate will proceed to a roll call vote on the motion to invoke cloture on Executive Calendar #647 John DeLeeuw to be a Member of the National Transportation Safety Board for the remainder of the term expiring December 31, 2026.

At 2:15pm, if cloture is invoked, the Senate will proceed to a roll call vote on confirmation of the DeLeeuw nomination.

On Tuesday, February 24th, 2026, Leader Thune filed cloture on the Executive Calendar #651 Ryan McCormack to be Under Secretary of Transportation for Policy.
