Cloture Invoked, 54-37: Motion to invoke cloture on Executive Calendar #670 Robert Cekada to be Director, Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives.

The Senate will convene at 10:00am on Tuesday, April 28th.

11:00am – 2 roll call votes expected:

  1. Motion to proceed to Executive Session for the consideration of S.Res.690 En Bloc Nominations
  2. Motion to invoke cloture on the motion to proceed to Cal. #373, S.4344 To extend section 702 of the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act of 1978 for 3 years.

The Senate will recess from 12:30pm until 4:00pm to allow for the weekly caucus meetings and the joint meeting.

At 3:00pm, His Majesty King Charles III will address a Joint Meeting of Congress in the Hall of the House of Representatives.  Senators will assemble in the Senate Chamber at 2:20pm. Senators, led by Senate leadership, including the Secretary of the Senate and the Deputy Sergeant at Arms, will proceed to the House Chamber at 2:25pm.

Approx. 5:00pm – 1 roll call vote expected:

  1. Motion to discharge SFRC of S.J.Res.124, A joint resolution to direct the removal of United States Armed Forces from hostilities within or against the Republic of Cuba that have not been authorized by Congress.
