Confirmed, 53-40: Confirmation of Executive Calendar #574, Alexander C. Van Hook to be United States District Judge for the Western District of Louisiana.

Agreed to by unanimous consent: S. Res. 580, directing the Architect of the Capitol to prominently display in the Senate wing of the U.S. Capitol a plaque honoring the members of law enforcement responding on January 6, 2021, until the plaque can be placed in its permanent location.

The Senate will convene at 3:00pm on Monday, January 12, 2026.

At 5:30pm, the Senate will vote on the Motion to Invoke Cloture on the Motion to Proceed to H.R.6938 – Commerce, Justice, Science; Energy and Water Development; and Interior and Environment Appropriations Act, 2026.

Floor Schedule

The Senate will convene at 10:00am on Thursday, April 30th. Following Leader Remarks, the Senate will be in a period of Morning Business with Senators permitted to speak therein for up to ten minutes each.

At approximately 11:30am, the Senate is expected to vote on the motion to invoke cloture on S.Res.690, an executive resolution authorizing the en bloc consideration in Executive Session of (49) certain nominations on the Executive Calendar.  If cloture is invoked on S.Res.690, all post-cloture time will be considered expired and the Senate will vote on adoption of the resolution at a time to be determined by the Majority Leader, in consultation with the Democratic Leader, no earlier than Friday, May 1st.

At approximately 1:45pm, a roll call vote on the motion to discharge S.J.Res 184, A joint resolution to direct the removal of United States Armed Forces from hostilities within or against the Islamic Republic of Iran that have not been authorized by Congress from the Senate Foreign Relations Committee (Schiff) is expected.
