Not invoked, 47-37: Motion to invoke cloture on the motion to proceed to Cal. #311, H.R.7147, Department of Homeland Security Appropriations Act, 2026, upon reconsideration.

Leader Thune filed cloture on the nomination of Markwayne Mullin to be Secretary of Homeland Security.

The Senate adjourned on Friday, March 20th at 6:45 p.m. and will next convene on Saturday, March 21st at 12:00 noon.  Following any leader remarks the Senate will resume consideration of the House message to accompany S. 1383, the Save Act.

Two votes at approximately 1:00 p.m. –

  1. Tuberville Amendment #4421, to the motion to concur in the House message to accompany S. 1383. (re: women and girls in sports).  
  2. Schumer motion to suspend the operation of Rule 25, paragraph n-1 to permit the Committee on Rules and Administration to consider the pending motion with respect to the message to accompany S. 1383 to fund the TSA.

During Friday’s session, Leader Thune filed cloture on the nomination of Markwayne Mullin to be Secretary of Homeland Security. The cloture vote is expected to occur on Sunday, March 22nd.

At 1:30pm, the Senate will proceed to a roll call vote on the motion to proceed to Calendar #447, S.J. Res. 198, a joint resolution disapproving the rule submitted by the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services of the Department of Health and Human Services relating to “Medicare Program; Implementation of Prior Authorization for Select Services for the Wasteful and Inappropriate Services Reduction (WISeR) Model.” (Wyden)
