Leader Schumer filed cloture on Executive Calendar #61, Daniel I. Werfel to be Commissioner of Internal Revenue.

By a vote of 59-35, the Senate invoked cloture on Executive Calendar #31 Robert Stewart Ballou to be United States District Judge for the Western District of Virginia.

The Senate will convene at 10:00am on Tuesday, March 7th, 2023.

Two roll call votes at 11:30am:

  1. Confirmation of Executive Calendar #31 Robert Stewart Ballou to be United States District Judge for the Western District of Virginia.
  2. Motion to invoke cloture on Executive Calendar #42 Andrew G. Schopler to be United States District Judge for the Southern District of California.

Following the cloture vote on the Schopler nomination, the Senate will recess until 2:15pm to allow for the weekly party lunches.

Floor Schedule

The Senate will convene at 10:00am on Thursday, April 30th. Following Leader Remarks, the Senate will be in a period of Morning Business with Senators permitted to speak therein for up to ten minutes each.

At approximately 11:30am, the Senate is expected to vote on the motion to invoke cloture on S.Res.690, an executive resolution authorizing the en bloc consideration in Executive Session of (49) certain nominations on the Executive Calendar.  If cloture is invoked on S.Res.690, all post-cloture time will be considered expired and the Senate will vote on adoption of the resolution at a time to be determined by the Majority Leader, in consultation with the Democratic Leader, no earlier than Friday, May 1st.

At approximately 1:45pm, a roll call vote on the motion to discharge S.J.Res 184, A joint resolution to direct the removal of United States Armed Forces from hostilities within or against the Islamic Republic of Iran that have not been authorized by Congress from the Senate Foreign Relations Committee (Schiff) is expected.
