Following any Leader remarks, the Senate will proceed to Executive Session and resume consideration of Executive Calendar #1032, Sarah A. L. Merriam, of Connecticut, to be United States Circuit Judge for the Second Circuit.

At 11:30am the Senate will vote on confirmation of the Merriam nomination. Following disposition of the nomination, the Senate will resume consideration of Executive Calendar #1096, David P. Pekoske, to be Administrator of the Transportation Security Administration.

At 1:45pm the Senate will vote on confirmation of the Pekoske nomination.

By a vote of 53-44, the nomination is confirmed. Executive Calendar #1032 Sarah A. L. Merriam, of Connecticut, to be United States Circuit Judge for the Second Circuit, vice Susan L. Carney, retiring.

By a vote of 77-18, the nomination is confirmed. Executive Calendar #1096 David P. Pekoske, of Maryland, to be Administrator of the Transportation Security Administration for a term of five years. (New Position).

Cloture has been filed on the following:

  1. Executive Calendar #1067 Florence Y. Pan, of the District of Columbia, to be United States Circuit Judge for the District of Columbia Circuit.
  2. Resolution of ratification with respect to Calendar #2 Treaty document 117-1 Amendment to Montreal Protocol (“Kigali Amendment”).

The following nominations were confirmed by voice vote:

  1. Executive Calendar #1066 Geoffrey R. Pyatt to be an Assistant Secretary of State (Energy Resources).
  2. Executive Calendar #1141 Nathaniel Fick to be Ambassador at Large for Cyberspace and Digital Policy. (New Position).
  3. Executive Calendar #1142 Rolfe Michael Schiffer to be an Assistant Administrator of the United States Agency for International Development.
  4. Executive Calendar #1143 Patrick Leahy to be a Representative of the United States of America to the Seventy-seventh Session of the General Assembly of the United Nations.
  5. Executive Calendar #1144 James E. Risch to be a Representative of the United States of America to the Seventy-seventh Session of the General Assembly of the United Nations.

The Senate will convene at 3:00pm on Monday, September 19, 2022.

At 5:30pm, the Senate will vote on the Motion to Invoke Cloture on Executive Calendar #1067, Florence Y. Pan to be United States Circuit Judge for the District of Columbia Circuit.
