At approximately 1:45pm, the Senate will proceed to a roll call vote on confirmation of the Huff nomination.

Confirmed by a vote of 80-11: Executive Calendar #887 Kathryn Huff to be an Assistant Secretary of Energy (Nuclear Energy).

Leader Schumer filed cloture on the following:

  1. Executive Calendar #708 Ann Claire Phillips to be Administrator of the Maritime Administration.
  2. Executive Calendar #773 Asmeret Asefaw Berhe to be Director of the Office of Science, Department of Energy.

The Senate confirmed the following nominations en bloc by a voice vote:

  1. Executive Calendar #897 Marc B. Nathanson to be Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the United States of America to the Kingdom of Norway.
  2. Executive Calendar #898 John N. Nkengasong to be Ambassador at Large, Coordinator of United States Government Activities to Combat HIV/AIDS Globally.
  3. Executive Calendar #899 Caroline Kennedy to be Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the United States of America to the Commonwealth of Australia.
  4. Executive Calendar #900 MaryKay Loss Carlson, a Career Member of the Senior Foreign Service, Class of Minister-Counselor, to be Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the United States of America to the Republic of the Philippines.

At 11:00am, the Senate will proceed to two roll call votes relative to the following:

  1. Motion to invoke cloture on the nomination of Jonathan Gould to be Comptroller of the Currency for a term of five years.
  2. Motion to invoke cloture on the nomination of Whitney D. Hermandorfer to be United States Circuit Judge for the Sixth Circuit.

If cloture is invoked on the Hermandorfer nomination, all post-cloture time will be considered expired, and the Senate will vote on confirmation of the nomination at a time to be determined on Monday July 14th by the Majority Leader in consultation with the Democratic Leader.

At approximately 1:45pm, if cloture is invoked, the Senate will proceed to a roll call vote on confirmation of the Gould nomination.
