The Senate will convene at 10:00am on Tuesday, July 26, 2022.

At 11:00am, the Senate will vote on the motion to invoke cloture on the motion to concur in the House amendment to H.R. 4346 (legislative vehicle for CHIPS+ legislation), with Schumer amendment to improve the bill (5135).

The Senate will recess from 12:30pm to 2:15pm for the weekly party caucus lunches.

WRDA agreement:

By unanimous consent, the Senate reached the following agreement on Wednesday, July 20th: At a time to be determined by the Majority Leader, following consultation with the Republican Leader, the Senate will proceed to the consideration of Calendar #399, H.R. 7776 (Water Resources Development Act of 2022); the Carper-Capito-Cardin-Cramer substitute #5140 be considered and agreed to; that there be up to 1 hour for debate, equally divided in the usual form; that upon the use or yielding back of time, if a Budget point of order is made and a motion to waive made, the Senate vote on the motion to waive; and if the point of order is waived, the bill, as amended, be considered read a third time and the Senate vote on passage of the bill with 60-affirmative votes required for passage.

Pending nominations:

By unanimous consent, the Senate will proceed to a roll call vote on confirmation of the following nominations at time to be determined by the Majority Leader in consultation with the Republican Leader.

  • Cathy Ann Harris to be Chairman of the Merit Systems Protection Board.
  • Constance J. Milstein to be Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the United States of America to the Republic of Malta.

At 11:00am, the Senate will proceed to two roll call votes relative to the following:

  1. Motion to invoke cloture on the nomination of Jonathan Gould to be Comptroller of the Currency for a term of five years.
  2. Motion to invoke cloture on the nomination of Whitney D. Hermandorfer to be United States Circuit Judge for the Sixth Circuit.

If cloture is invoked on the Hermandorfer nomination, all post-cloture time will be considered expired, and the Senate will vote on confirmation of the nomination at a time to be determined on Monday July 14th by the Majority Leader in consultation with the Democratic Leader.
