The Senate convened at 3:00pm.

Pete Ricketts (R) was sworn-in as the new senator for the State of Nebraska, appointed to fill the seat vacated by Senator Sasse.

By a vote of 60-35, the Senate confirmed the nomination of Brendan Owens to be an Assistant Secretary of Defense.

The Senate recessed tonight at 6:27 p.m. and stands in recess until Tuesday January 24th at 10 a.m. Following leader remarks, the Senate will recess from 12:30 p.m. until 2:15 p.m. for the weekly caucus meetings. There are no votes scheduled for Tuesday’s session at this time.

Floor Schedule

The Senate will convene for pro forma sessions on the following dates and times:

  • Friday, November 21st at 11:00am
  • Tuesday, November 25th at 1:45pm
  • Friday, November 28th at 5:30pm

The Senate will next convene on Monday, December 1st at 3:00pm.

At 5:30pm on Monday, December 1st, the Senate will vote on the motion to invoke cloture on the nomination of David A. Bragdon to be United States District Judge for the Middle District of North Carolina.
