The Senate convened at 12:00pm. 

Following Leader remarks, the Senate will proceed to Executive Session and resume consideration of Executive Calendar #1068 Elizabeth Wilson Hanes, of Virginia, to be United States District Judge for the Eastern District of Virginia, vice John A. Gibney, Jr., retired.

The Senate will recess from 12:30pm until 2:15pm for their weekly caucus meetings.

At 2:15pm, the Senate will vote on confirmation of the Hanes nomination. 

Additional roll call votes are possible during Tuesday’s session.

At 5:00 PM today, the Senate will proceed to four roll call votes on the following measures in relation to the PACT Act:

  1. Paul motion to concur with amendment numbered 5184 (subject to a 60-vote affirmative threshold).
  2. Toomey motion to concur with amendment 5186 (subject to a 60-vote affirmative threshold).
  3. Blackburn motion to concur with amendment 5185 (subject to a 60-vote affirmative threshold).
  4. Motion to concur in the House amendment to S.3373, the legislative vehicle for the PACT Act (Final passage – subject to a 60-vote affirmative threshold).

At 4:30 p.m. the Senate will proceed to three votes regarding Finland and Sweden joining NATO.

The Senate will convene at 10:00am on Thursday, July 10, 2025.

At 11:00am, the Senate will proceed to two roll call votes relative to the following:

  1. Motion to invoke cloture on the nomination of Jonathan Gould to be Comptroller of the Currency for a term of five years.
  2. Motion to invoke cloture on the nomination of Whitney D. Hermandorfer to be United States Circuit Judge for the Sixth Circuit.

If cloture is invoked on the Hermandorfer nomination, all post-cloture time will be considered expired, and the Senate will vote on confirmation of the nomination at a time to be determined on Monday July 14th by the Majority Leader in consultation with the Democratic Leader.

At approximately 1:45pm, if cloture is invoked, the Senate will proceed to a roll call vote on confirmation of the Gould nomination.
