Following Leader remarks, the Senate will proceed to Executive Session and resume consideration of Executive Calendar #985 John Z. Lee, of Illinois, to be United States Circuit Judge for the Seventh Circuit, vice Diane P. Wood, retiring.

The Senate will recess from 12:30pm until 2:15pm to allow for the weekly caucus meetings.

At 2:15pm, the Senate will vote on confirmation of the Lee nomination. Following disposition of the nomination, the Senate will vote on cloture on Executive Calendar #736 Andre B. Mathis, of Tennessee, to be United States Circuit Judge for the Sixth Circuit, vice Bernice Bouie Donald, retiring.

Cloture was filed on:

  1. Executive Calendar #985 John Z. Lee, of Illinois, to be United States Circuit Judge for the Seventh Circuit.
  2. Executive Calendar #736 Andre B. Mathis, of Tennessee, to be United States Circuit Judge for the Sixth Circuit.
  3. Executive Calendar #1043 Arianna J. Freeman, of Pennsylvania, to be United States Circuit Judge for the Third Circuit.
  4. Executive Calendar #986 Salvador Mendoza, Jr., of Washington, to be United States Circuit Judge for the Ninth Circuit.

By a vote of 50-44, the Senate confirmed John Z. Lee, of Illinois, to be United States Circuit Judge for the Seventh Circuit, vice Diane P. Wood, retiring.

Invoked, 48-45: Motion to invoke cloture on Andre B. Mathis, of Tennessee, to be United States Circuit Judge for the Sixth Circuit, vice Bernice Bouie Donald, retiring.

The Senate will convene at 10:00am on Thursday, July 10, 2025.

At 11:00am, the Senate will proceed to two roll call votes relative to the following:

  1. Motion to invoke cloture on the nomination of Jonathan Gould to be Comptroller of the Currency for a term of five years.
  2. Motion to invoke cloture on the nomination of Whitney D. Hermandorfer to be United States Circuit Judge for the Sixth Circuit.

If cloture is invoked on the Hermandorfer nomination, all post-cloture time will be considered expired, and the Senate will vote on confirmation of the nomination at a time to be determined on Monday July 14th by the Majority Leader in consultation with the Democratic Leader.

At approximately 1:45pm, if cloture is invoked, the Senate will proceed to a roll call vote on confirmation of the Gould nomination.
