The Senate convened at 10:00am.

By a vote of 56-41, the Senate confirmed Executive Calendar #125 LaShonda A. Hunt, of Illinois, to be a United States District Judge for the Northern District of Illinois.

Invoked by a vote of 53-44: Motion to invoke cloture on Executive Calendar #79 Colleen Joy Shogan to be Archivist of the United States.

Invoked by a vote of 50-44: Motion to invoke cloture on Executive Calendar #66 Geeta Rao Gupta to be Ambassador at Large for Global Women’s Issues.

Leader Schumer filed cloture on the following nominations:

  1. Executive Calendar #71 L. Felice Gorordo to be United States Alternate Executive Director of the International Bank for Reconstruction and Development for a term of two years.
  2. Executive Calendar #55 Glenna Laureen Wright-Gallo to be Assistant Secretary for Special Education and Rehabilitative Services, Department of Education.

The Senate confirmed the following nominations by voice vote:

  1. Executive Calendar #74 Damien M. Diggs to be United States Attorney for the Eastern District of Texas for the term of four years.
  2. Executive Calendar #153 Amanda K. Brailsford to be United States District Judge for the District of Idaho.

The confirmation votes on the following nominations will occur at a time to be determined by the Majority Leader in consultation with the Republican Leader:

  1. Executive Calendar #79 Colleen Joy Shogan to be Archivist of the United States.
  2. Executive Calendar #66 Geeta Rao Gupta to be Ambassador at Large for Global Women’s Issues.

The Senate will convene for a pro forma session on Friday, May 5th at 9:30am.

The Senate next convenes on Tuesday, May 9th at 3:00pm. Vote at 5:30pm on the motion to invoke cloture on Exec. Cal. #71 L. Felice Gorordo to be US Alternate Executive Director of the Int’l Bank for Reconstruction and Development for a term of two years.

The Senate adjourned at 3:44pm.

Floor Schedule

The Senate stands in recess until Monday, February 23, 2026, other than for pro forma sessions on the following dates, during which no business shall be conducted:

  • Friday, February 13th at 9:00am
  • Tuesday, February 17th at 6:30pm
  • Thursday, February 19th at 2:00pm

The Senate will next convene at 3:00pm on Monday, February 23rd. Following the prayer and pledge, Senator Kaine will be recognized to deliver Washington’s Farewell address. Following the Address, the Senate will be in a period of Morning Business with Senators permitted to speak therein for up to 10 minutes each.

At approximately 5:30pm, the Senate will proceed to a roll call vote on the motion to invoke cloture on the motion to proceed to H.R.7147, an act making further consolidated appropriations for the fiscal year ending September 30, 2026, and for other purposes.
