The Senate completed the Rule 14 process to place H.R.5692, making supplemental appropriations for the fiscal year ending September 30, 2024, on the Legislative Calendar of Business.

Cloture Invoked, 63-32: Executive Calendar #319 James C. O’Brien to be an Assistant Secretary of State (European and Eurasian Affairs).

The Senate will convene at 10:00am on Wednesday, October 4th, 2023.

Two votes at 11:30am:

  1. Confirmation of Executive Calendar #319 James C. O’Brien to be an Assistant Secretary of State (European and Eurasian Affairs).
  2. Motion to invoke cloture on Executive Calendar #176 Brendan Abell Hurson to be United States District Judge for the District of Maryland.

Following the cloture vote on the Hurson nomination, the Senate will recess until 2:15pm to allow for the weekly party caucus lunches.
