The Senate convened at 10:00am.

The motion to invoke cloture on the nomination of Jacquelyn D. Austin to be United States District Judge for the District of South Carolina was agreed to by a roll call vote of 79-17.

Invoked, 68-29: Motion to invoke cloture on Executive Calendar #474 Cristal C. Brisco to be United States District Judge for the Northern District of Indiana.

Cloture was withdrawn with respect to the Lund nomination and there will no longer be a roll call vote at 6:15pm today.

Confirmed, 67-32: Executive Calendar #474 Cristal C. Brisco to be United States District Judge for the Northern District of Indiana.

The Senate will convene Thursday, January 25th at 10:00am.

11:30am – 2 roll call votes:

  1. Confirmation of Executive Calendar #475 Gretchen S. Lund, of Indiana, to be United States District Judge for the Northern District of Indiana
  2. Motion to invoke cloture Executive Calendar #471 Kirk Edward Sherriff, of California, to be United States District Judge for the Eastern District of California

1:45pm – roll call vote:

  1. Motion to invoke cloture on Executive Calendar #459 Joshua Paul Kolar, of Indiana, to be United States Circuit Judge for the Seventh Circuit

Floor Schedule

The Senate will convene at 10:00am and resume consideration of Executive Calendar #735, Sheria Akins Clarke, of South Carolina, to be United States District Judge for the District of South Carolina.

At 11:45am, the Senate will proceed to a roll call vote on the motion to invoke cloture on the Clarke nomination.

Following the cloture vote, the Senate will recess until 2:00pm for the weekly conference meetings.

At 2:15pm, if cloture is invoked, the Senate will proceed to two roll call votes on the following:

  1. Confirmation of the Clarke nomination.
  2. Motion to invoke cloture on Executive Calendar #737, Evan Rikhye, of the Virgin Islands, to be Judge for the District Court of the Virgin Islands for a term of ten years.

Further roll call votes are expected during Tuesday’s session of the Senate.
