The Senate convened at 3:00pm.

Cloture Invoked, 56-38: Motion to invoke cloture on Executive Calendar #468, Jacqueline Becerra to be United States District Judge for the Southern District of Florida.

Confirmed by voice vote: Executive Calendar #441 Summer K. Mersinger to be a Commissioner of the Commodity Futures Trading Commission for a term expiring April 13, 2028. (Reappointment).

Confirmed by voice vote: Executive Calendar #442 Basil Ivanhoe Gooden to be Under Secretary of Agriculture for Rural Development.

The Senate will convene at 10:00am on Tuesday, February 27, 2024.

At 11:00am, the Senate will proceed to two roll call votes on the following:

  1. Confirmation of Executive Calendar #468 Jacqueline Becerra to be United States District Judge for the Southern District of Florida.
  2. Motion to invoke cloture on Executive Calendar #470 David Seymour Leibowitz to be United States District Judge for the Southern District of Florida.

Following the cloture vote on the Leibowitz nomination, the Senate will recess until 2:15pm to allow for the weekly party caucus lunches.

At 2:15pm, if cloture is invoked, the Senate will proceed to two roll call votes:

  1. Confirmation of Executive Calendar #470 David Seymour Leibowitz to be United States District Judge for the Southern District of Florida.
  2. Motion to invoke cloture on Executive Calendar #455 Hampton Y. Dellinger to be Special Counsel, Office of Special Counsel, for the term of five years.

At 5:45pm, if cloture is invoked, the Senate will proceed to a roll call vote on confirmation of Executive Calendar #455 Hampton Y. Dellinger to be Special Counsel, Office of Special Counsel, for the term of five years.

Leader Schumer filed cloture on the following nominations:

  1. Marjorie A. Rollinson, of Virginia, to be Chief Counsel for the Internal Revenue Service and an Assistant General Counsel in the Department of the Treasury.
  2. Julie Simone Sneed, of Florida, to be United States District Judge for the Middle District of Florida.
  3. Melissa Damian, of Florida, to be United States District Judge for the Southern District of Florida.

The Senate adjourned at 7:18pm.

5:30pm Monday, April 13th the Senate is expected to proceed to a roll call vote on the motion to invoke cloture on the Shepherd nomination.

Cloture was filed on the following nominations:

  1. The nomination of John Thomas Shepherd to be United States District Judge for the Western District of Arkansas.
  2. The nomination of Christopher R. Wolfe to be United States District Judge for the Western District of Texas.
