The Senate convened at 10:00am.

Confirmed 96-2: Confirmation of the nomination of Ramona Villagomez Manglona to be Judge for the District Court for the Northern Mariana Islands for a term of ten years.

Agreed to, 50-49: Motion to proceed to Legislative Session.

Cloture was filed on the motion to proceed to H.R. 7888 – Reforming Intelligence and Securing America Act.

A Message from the House has been received in the Senate, notifying us of the appointment of Managers concerning the impeachment of Alejandro N. Mayorkas, Secretary of Homeland Security.

The Senate adjourned at 7:26pm.

Floor Schedule

The Senate will convene at 10:00am on Wednesday, February 4th. Following Leader remarks, the Senate will resume consideration of Aaron Christian Peterson to be United States District Judge for the District of Alaska, post-cloture.

 

At approximately 11:30am, the Senate is expected to proceed to two roll call votes relative to the following:

  1. Confirmation of the nomination of Aaron Christian Peterson to be United States District Judge for the District of Alaska.
  2. The motion to invoke cloture on the nomination of Megan Blair Benton to be United States District Judge for the Western District of Missouri.

 

If cloture is invoked on the Benton nomination, at approximately 2:15pm, the Senate is expected to proceed to two roll call votes relative to the following:

  1. Confirmation of the nomination of Megan Blair Benton to be United States District Judge for the Western District of Missouri.
  2. The motion to invoke cloture on the nomination of Brian Charles Lea to be United States District Judge for the Western District of Tennessee.

 

 

If cloture is invoked on the Lea nomination, there would be up to two hours of debate prior to a vote on confirmation of the nomination. This vote is possible during Wednesday’s session.
