The Senate convened at 12:00 Noon.

Confirmed, 79-18: Confirmation of Douglas Burgum to be Secretary of the Interior.

Cloture Invoked, 62-35: Motion to invoke cloture on Christopher Wright to be Secretary of Energy.

Cloture Invoked, 83-13: Motion to invoke cloture on Douglas Collins to be Secretary of Veterans Affairs.

The Senate will convene at 3:00pm on Monday, February 3, 2025.

At 5:30pm, the Senate will proceed to three votes:

  1. A procedural vote in relation to the nomination of Russell Vought to be Director of the OMB.
  2. Confirmation of Christopher Wright to be Secretary of Energy.
  3. Motion to Invoke Cloture on Pamela Bondi, of Florida, to be Attorney General.

Leader Thune filed cloture on:

Pamela Bondi, of Florida, to be Attorney General.

Eric Turner, of Texas, to be Secretary of Housing and Urban Development.

At approximately 5:30 p.m. the Senate will vote on cloture on Executive Calendar #902, Matthew Byrne to be a US District Judge for the Southern District of Ohio.
