Passed, 64-35: Cal. #1, S.5, Laken Riley Act, as amended.

Confirmed, 99-0: Marco Rubio to be Secretary of State.

The Senate will convene at 11:00am on Tuesday, January 21 and will resume consideration of the Motion to Proceed to S. 6 (Born-Alive Abortion Survivors Protection Act).

The Senate will recess from 12:30pm-2:15pm for the weekly party lunches.

During Monday’s session of the Senate, Leader Thune filed cloture on the Motion to Proceed to S. 6 (Born-Alive Abortion Survivors Protection Act).

When the Senate next convenes at 3:00pm on Monday, April 13th, following Leader remarks, it will proceed to Executive Session and resume consideration of the nomination of John Thomas Shepherd to be United States District Judge for the Western District of Arkansas.

5:30pm Monday, April 13th the Senate is expected to proceed to a roll call vote on the motion to invoke cloture on the Shepherd nomination.

Cloture was filed on the following nominations:

  1. The nomination of John Thomas Shepherd to be United States District Judge for the Western District of Arkansas.
  2. The nomination of Christopher R. Wolfe to be United States District Judge for the Western District of Texas.
