The Senate convened at 3:00pm.

Leader Thune filed cloture on the following nominations:

1. Thomas Gaiser to be an Assistant Attorney General.
2. Joseph Kent to be Director of the National Counterterrorism Center, Office of the Director of National Intelligence.
3. Tyler Clarkson to be General Counsel of the Department of Agriculture.
4. Gadyaces Serralta to be Director of the United States Marshals Service.
5. Matthew Kozma to be Under Secretary for Intelligence and Analysis, Department of Homeland Security.

The motion to invoke cloture on the nomination of David Wright to be a Member of the Nuclear Regulatory Commission was agreed to by a roll call vote of 51-45.

Confirmed, 50-39: David Wright to be a Member of the Nuclear Regulatory Commission.

Invoked, 50-45: Motion to invoke cloture on the nomination of Earl Matthews to be General Counsel of the Department of Defense.

The Senate will convene at 10:00am on Tuesday, July 29^th.

At 11:30am, the Senate will proceed to two roll call votes on the following:

1. Confirmation of Executive Calendar #110 Earl Matthews to be General Counsel of the Department of Defense.
2. Motion to invoke cloture on Executive Calendar #94 William Kimmitt to be Under Secretary of Commerce for International Trade.

Following the cloture vote on the Kimmitt nomination, the Senate will recess until 2:15pm for the weekly party caucus lunches.

At 2:15pm, if cloture is invoked, the Senate will proceed to two roll call votes on the following:

1. Confirmation of Executive Calendar #94 William Kimmitt to be Under Secretary of Commerce for International Trade.
2. Motion to invoke cloture on Executive Calendar #274 Susan Monarez to be Director of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. (New Position).

Further votes are expected during Tuesday’s session of the Senate.
