Leader Thune filed cloture on the following: Executive Calendar #173 William Long to be Commissioner of Internal Revenue for the remainder of the term expiring November 12, 2027; Hagerty substitute amendment #2307 to Cal. #66, S.1582, GENIUS Act; and cloture on the underlying bill, Cal. #66, S.1582, GENIUS Act.

Confirmed, 51-41: Confirmation of Executive Calendar #111 Brett Shumate to be an Assistant Attorney General.

Invoked, 53-43: Motion to invoke cloture on Executive Calendar #49 David Fotouhi to be Deputy Administrator of the EPA.

The Senate will convene at 10:00am on Tuesday, June 10.

Two votes at 11:15am:

  1. Confirmation of the nomination of David Fotouhi to be Deputy Administrator of the Environmental Protection Agency.
  2. Motion to invoke cloture on the nomination of Stephen Vaden to be Deputy Secretary of Agriculture.

Following the prayer and pledge, Senator Kaine will be recognized to deliver Washington’s Farewell address. Following the Address, the Senate will be in a period of Morning Business with Senators permitted to speak therein for up to 10 minutes each.

At 5:00pm, the Senate will proceed to a roll call vote on the motion to invoke cloture on the motion to proceed to H.R.7147, an act making further consolidated appropriations for the fiscal year ending September 30, 2026, and for other purposes.

At 8:20pm, Senators will gather in the Senate chamber to proceed as a body to the House for the State of the Union.

On Monday, February 23rd, Senator Barrasso filed cloture on the nomination of John DeLeeuw, of Texas, to be a Member of the National Transportation Safety Board for the remainder of the term expiring December 31, 2026.
