The Senate will convene at 11:00am on Thursday, May 5, 2022. Following Leader remarks, the Senate will proceed to Executive Session to consider the nomination of Kathryn Huff to be an Assistant Secretary of Energy.

At approximately 1:45pm, the Senate will proceed to a roll call vote on confirmation of the Huff nomination.

Confirmed by a vote of 80-11: Executive Calendar #887 Kathryn Huff to be an Assistant Secretary of Energy (Nuclear Energy).

Leader Schumer filed cloture on the following:

  1. Executive Calendar #708 Ann Claire Phillips to be Administrator of the Maritime Administration.
  2. Executive Calendar #773 Asmeret Asefaw Berhe to be Director of the Office of Science, Department of Energy.

The Senate confirmed the following nominations en bloc by a voice vote:

  1. Executive Calendar #897 Marc B. Nathanson to be Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the United States of America to the Kingdom of Norway.
  2. Executive Calendar #898 John N. Nkengasong to be Ambassador at Large, Coordinator of United States Government Activities to Combat HIV/AIDS Globally.
  3. Executive Calendar #899 Caroline Kennedy to be Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the United States of America to the Commonwealth of Australia.
  4. Executive Calendar #900 MaryKay Loss Carlson, a Career Member of the Senior Foreign Service, Class of Minister-Counselor, to be Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the United States of America to the Republic of the Philippines.
  5. Executive Calendar #901 Philip S. Goldberg, a Career Member of the Senior Foreign Service, Class of Career Ambassador, to be Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the United States of America to the Republic of Korea.

The Senate will reconvene on Monday, May 9, 2022 at 3:00pm. After Leader remarks, the Senate will resume consideration of the nomination of Anne Claire Phillips to be Administrator of the Maritime Administration. The cloture vote on the nomination will occur at 5:30pm.
