The Senate will convene at 3:00pm on Monday, July 11, 2022. Following Leader remarks, the Senate will resume consideration of the nomination of Ashish S. Vazirani to be a Deputy Under Secretary of Defense.

At approximately 5:30pm, the Senate will proceed to a roll call vote on the motion to invoke cloture on the Vazirani nomination.

On Thursday, June 23, 2022, Senator Schumer filed cloture on the following nominations:

  1. Ashish S. Vazirani to be a Deputy Under Secretary of Defense.
  2. Steven M. Dettelbach to be Director, Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives.
  3. Michael S. Barr to be a Member of the Board of Governors of the Federal Reserve System for the unexpired term of fourteen years from February 1, 2018.
  4. Michael S. Barr to be Vice Chairman for Supervision of the Board of Governors of the Federal Reserve System for a term of four years.

Senator Durbin filed cloture on:

  1. Executive Calendar #676 Owen Edward Herrnstadt to be a Member of the Board of Directors of the Export-Import Bank of the United States for a term expiring January 20, 2025.
  2. Executive Calendar #908 Kate Elizabeth Heinzelman to be General Counsel of the Central Intelligence Agency.
  3. Executive Calendar #968 Julianna Michelle Childs to be United States Circuit Judge for the District of Columbia Circuit.

Invoked by a vote of 67-20: Motion to invoke cloture on Executive Calendar #599 Ashish S. Vazirani to be a Deputy Under Secretary of Defense.

The Senate will convene at 10:00am on Tuesday, July 12, 2022.

At 11:30am, the Senate will proceed to two roll call votes:

  1. Confirmation of Ashish S. Vazirani to be a Deputy Under Secretary of Defense.
  2. Motion to Invoke Cloture on Steven M. Dettelbach to be Director, Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives.

Following the cloture vote on the Dettelbach nomination, the Senate will recess until 2:15pm for the weekly party caucus lunches.

At 2:30pm, the Senate will proceed to two roll call votes:

  1. Confirmation of Steven M. Dettelbach to be Director, Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives (if cloture is invoked).
  2. Motion to Invoke Cloture on Michael S. Barr to be a Member of the Board of Governors of the Federal Reserve System for the unexpired term of fourteen years from February 1, 2018.
